Retro-inspired Campaign Mailer
During the past several years I have done pro bono work for several local grass-roots campaigns, including my own for City Commissioner in 2018. This project created a post-card size mailer that was reminiscent of Mid-Century travel post cards like this one:
I began with selecting a font that was chunky and would lend itself to having a large front face. I chose CHUCK:
After adding a gradient background, I created outlines with the text, and played with the arc, emboss and bevel until I had something I liked:
Then I created a clipping mask over a scene of Daytona Beach's main drag in the 60s:
To add more definition I added a light colored stroke:
Here is the finished product, resulting in a very unique and appealing campaign mail out:
